Prattville Motorcycle Cops 23 Sept. 2008 To Protect and Serve, and catch speeders! Page #2 I've seen our Motorcycle Cops around our School Zones as well. This is exactly where they are needed. I've been driving through the Dan Pratt Elementary School Zones on Shelia for about 9 years. I've seen numerous violators who tailgate those who are trying to stay under the required 15 MPH limit. I've seen drivers, who were obviously late for work, pass people in a single lane and pay no attention to the Crossing Guards who work to keep the traffic flowing. I've seen several who were pulled over by our Motorcycle Cops too, and they got what was coming to them! They are now and have always been a deterrent those who are in a hurry and don't want to adhere to the School Zone requirements. I've lived in several major cities throughout the US and I've never seen a more involved police department than that of the Prattville Police Department. They are on our streets, in our schools, I even go to church with one of our finest. We see them at the movie theater, Wal-Mart, Bass Pro Shop, out at the golf course, at the parks in town, at our YMCA, and at our other businesses. They are all friendly and work hard for the community respect that they have undoubtedly earned through their service to us, the citizens of The Preferred Community. In many communities, people complain about their police force and with good reason. There are cops all over who get caught doing things that are illegal or corrupt. There are many more who don't get caught. We don't have that here in Prattville. Our Police Officers are a cut above and serve with pride. No, I'm not a cop, never have been and don't have the will nor the guts to do what they do, but I am a citizen and I can see why our community is the Preferred Community, it's because it's a safe place to live and to raise our kids. This is because of our police force. Now I'm not taking anything away from our County Sheriff's Office either. Autauga County is right there with the city. They all do a thankless job for not a lot of money and they put their lives on the line for us every time they they put on that badge. I just wanted to point it out to our readers and take this opportunity to thank each and every officer for the fine work they do for me and my family.
